It’s National Volunteer Week – 180 Turning Lives Around honors the volunteer victim advocates who serve on our Domestic Violence Response Team and Sexual Assault Response Team. These highly-trained, compassionate victim advocates respond to the police departments and hospitals in Monmouth County 24-hours a day, nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide victim-centered, trauma-informed confidential support and safety planning for survivors of these heinous crimes. The volunteers meet with survivors during this critical time to provide support for them through the reporting process, forensic evidence collection, temporary restraining order application, and provide information on 180‘s programs and services, and other resources. 180‘s compassionate and empathetic volunteers readily share their knowledge, time, and hearts. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for their hard work and steadfast dedication! Please consider joining 180‘s life-changing mission and becoming a volunteer victim advocate. Our next Sexual Assault Response Team training via Zoom is coming up soon June 1-24. For an application or more information, click on https://180nj.org/get-help/
