Jersey Girl Triathlon
Pier Village, Long Branch

jersey-girl-2017

The Jersey Girl Triathlon is the premier women’s only event at the Jersey Shore. Start off with a dip into the beautiful waves off of the Pier Village beach in ideal Long Branch, N.J., with a boardwalk full of spectators cheering for you. Take in the salty air and beautiful blue skies of the famous Jersey Shore before surfacing onto the soft sand and running up onto the boardwalk. Suit up for the smooth, flat bike course that will carry you up and down scenic Ocean Avenue, past some of the best beaches Monmouth County has to offer. Finish up your bike loop back by the historic Ocean Place Hotel, lace up your shoes, and get started on the run course that brings you through the Pier Village center and features more gorgeous views of breaking waves and diving seagulls. Sprint your way to the finish line in front of the stage to hear your name announced and the crowds cheer for you. Stick around after the race to soak up the sun on the beach and check out everything the Jersey Shore has to offer. Every competitor will receive a custom Jersey Girl Triathlon medal and the best triathlon experience of their lives!

Ms. Race Regatta
Atlantic Highlands, NJ

ms-race-2017

The Ms. Race is an annual charity sailboat race, hosted by the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club in August, to benefit 180 Turning Lives Around. It is a race sponsored by and for women, with the support of the AHYC club members and race committee. 2017 marks the 13th Annual Ms. Race event to be held on August 19th. Participation in the race features all female skippers and crews. The Ms. Race has experienced increased popularity and heightened presence since its inception. Proceeds from the Ms. Race as well as other related special events throughout the year are donated to “180”, a Monmouth County N.J. based private, non-profit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. The goal of this year’s Ms. Race is to expand participation of women and girls of all ages including partnership with AHSEP, the Atlantic Highlands Sailing Education Program, and to raise additional funds for 180 Turning Lives Around through increased donations and sponsorships. All women sailors, with their boats and crews, are encouraged and welcome to participate. Women who don’t have a boat but would like to take part in this year’s race are encouraged to contact the Ms. Race Committee to be placed as crew on a participating sailboat.
